Song of the Broad-Axe Publications is Hiring a Full-Stack Developer

Song of the Broad-Axe Publications is hiring a developer to continue work on Song of the Broad-Axe Publication’s proprietary software to help readers and writers engage dynamically with a centralized system. This software is primarily a set of simple, but effective, tools for use internally at Song of the Broad-Axe Publications, but it may, in time develop into a public facing entity. It is meant to foster critical engagement with literature, improve the process of play rehearsal, and facilitate the sale and distribution of the products generated by a small publisher. A working web app is already in use. The codebase is commented out and cleanly. Applicants should be familiar with the following libraries, frameworks, and services. A more exhaustive description of the stack, along with user stories, a broader write-up of what the program is, and planned new implementations will be made available to applicants.

Languages:

-Python

-Javascript

-HTML

-CSS

Libraries:

- Flask

- SQLAlchemy

- jQuery

Services:

- AWS

- GitHub

- Stripe

Frameworks:

- Apache2

A competitive rate can be paid to the right applicant. ($40/hr for undergraduate interns. $40k-$60k a year for salaried positions.)

Applicants from the Chicagoland area or the greater Midwest are preferred.

Applicants at the beginning of their career are likely the best fit for the level of difficulty involved in near-term projects.

Applicants should email editors@broadaxepublications.com with their CV for more information.
